The game is about talent, strength, hard work, dedication, and smarts. Without those five things, there is now way you will be able to make a career out of it. Unless you get lucky. But besides all of that, I feel baseball should noticed because of it's classy, and well behaved citizens that are committed to it. Yes, the major-leaguers are full of talent and love it dearly, but I feel that the attitude's of the players towards others is really what should be noticed.
Babe Ruth is a great example of this. He always would look out for his teammates when need of help, as well as kids because he knew it was the right thing to do. One year in 1931 he played Santa Clause for hundreds of kids at city hospitals putting a smile on his face, and many others.
Now, I will give you some very interesting facts about the game of Baseball.
- Mordecai Brown was a great pitcher of his time. In fact one of the best. But the funny thing is, he was great with only three fingers on his throwing hand. He is now called, Mordecai "Three-Finger" Brown.
- My most favorite quote came from an amazing pitcher that had incredible accuracy named Satchel Paige and he said "Throw strikes, the plate don't move."
- Back in the day, short people dominated the game of baseball including a 5 foot 6 player with a size six shoe (I wear a size seven).
So baseball isn't that bad right. It can be funny, crazy, calm and very exciting. Actually, it can even be very painful and sad. You can find that out by watching it, or even going on YouTube. So give it a try, you may actually enjoy it.
i liked how u weren't reflecting on a book. i know how committed u are to baseball and i respect that. i like how the game can be described in talent, strength, hard work, dedication, and smarts. I mean u also need skill but that isnt the most iimportant thing for u.

Isaiah,
ReplyDeleteNot much people write about non-fiction book, but your blog post was great! I like how you wanted to change the way people see baseball by giving off fun facts. before, I wasn't much of a fan of baseball, but now that I've read your blog, baseball seems a bit interesting than before. I also like how you expressed your own opinion about baseball.
